Appliance Administration --> Collection Tool

The rPath Appliance Platform Agent (rAPA) includes a Collection Tool task which is enabled by default. In this task, a rAPA user can run a collection operation which creates a compressed archive of important appliance information, and the user can download that file. This is especially useful for support personnel who need this information to help troubleshoot appliance issues.

Use the following steps to collect and download data from the appliance:

  1. Access and log in to the rPath Appliance Platform Agent web interface.
  2. Click Collection Tool from the rAPA menu at the left.
  3. Click Collect Data to run the collection tool and create the compressed archive file.
  4. Click OK when the page displays that the collection completed successfully.
  5. Click Download to download the compressed archive file.
