Appliance Administration --> Configure Internet Proxy

The rPath Appliance Platform Agent (rAPA) includes a Configure Internet Proxy task which is enabled by default. In this task, a rAPA user can configure the appliance to use Internet proxies in environments where HTTP or HTTPS traffic goes through a proxy. This configuration only affects Conary, which requires HTTP to check for and receive system updates.

Use the following steps to configure Internet proxy settings for an appliance:

  1. Access and log in to the rPath Appliance Platform Agent web interface.
  2. Click Configuration from the rAPA menu at the left.
  3. Click Configure Internet Proxy from the expanded menu.
  4. For each applicable proxy (HTTP and HTTPS), complete the form as follows:
    1. Type the host name or IP address of the proxy, the port number, and any credentials required for the proxy in the text boxes provided.
    2. If HTTPS uses the same proxy configuration, check the box for Use HTTP proxy instead of completing its form separately.
  5. Click Save to save the changes.
