Network Configuration

Configure network parameters

Configure the network device present in the installation system. Select an interface listed under Network Devices and click Edit. Configure the following device parameters as desired:

• Configure using DHCP: Check to acquire network settings from a DHCP server, or leave unchecked if settings are manually specified
• Activate on boot: Specify whether the device is active at boot time

Click OK to accept the changes or Cancel to discard the changes. If necessary, configure the following additional network device configuration:

• Hardware address: Displays the network device Media Access Control (MAC) or hardware address
• IP Address: Specify IP address manually if device does not use DHCP
• Netmask: Specify network mask manually if device does not use DHCP
• Hostname: Select automatically via DHCP to have network hostname set automatically, or select manually and specify a hostname

Please be aware that a project name (repository name) must differ from the rBuilder hostname. See this TECHTIP for more information.

• Miscellaneous Settings: Specify the installation system's gateway and DNS settings with the Gateway, Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, and Tertiary DNS text input fields

• Click Next to continue with the installation.
• Click Back to return to the previous screen.
