Appliance Administration --> System Time

The rPath Appliance Platform Agent (rAPA) includes a System Time task which is enabled by default. In this task, a rAPA user can configure the time zone in which the appliance operates and set the current time, either manually or from a specified time server.

Use the following steps to set the time zone and time:

  1. Access and log in to the rPath Appliance Platform Agent web interface.
  2. Click Configuration from the rAPA menu at the left.
  3. Click System Time from the expanded menu.
  4. Select the desired time zone from the Time Zone drop-down list.
  5. If only the time zone should be updated, click Set Time Zone Only. Otherwise, select the date and time as follows:
    1. For a manual adjustment in the time and date, uncheck the Synchronize clock with Internet servers check box and use the provided drop-down lists to select the desired values.
    2. For using a network time protocol (NTP) server to set the time:
      1. Check the box to Synchronize clock with Internet servers, which should disable the drop-down lists for manual selection.
      2. Type the appropriate DNS host name or IP address for the NTP server in the text box provided.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Note the warning message that changes to the date and time could result in unexpected behavior such as service timeouts, and click Proceed or Cancel as appropriate.
