Appliance Administration --> Appliance Logs
The rPath Appliance Platform Agent (rAPA) includes an Appliance Logs task which is enabled by default. In this task, a rAPA user can view portions of log files on the appliance and download an entire selected log. Use these logs to monitor appliance health, troubleshoot errors, and provide information to support personnel (who may also request information collected using the Collection Tool).
Use the following steps to view appliance logs:
- Access and log in to the rPath Appliance Platform Agent web interface.
- Click Appliance Logs from the rAPA menu.
- Select one of the logs to view from the Select Log drop-down list. rAPA's default logs are described in the section following these steps.
- Verify the text box to shows output from the requested log.
- Click Refresh at any point to refresh the output displayed.
- Click Download to download the entire log:
- Verify that the page refreshes to display the downloaded log.
- If necessary, use the web browser's save option to save the contents to a file on your local system.
- Use the back button in your browser to return to the rAPA web interface.
The default log selections are as follows:
- Agent Service -- This log shows the status of the server service powering rPath Appliance Platform Agent which powers this web-based administration tool. (/var/log/raa/raa-service.log)
- Agent Web Service -- This log shows the status of the web service powering the rPath Appliance Platform Agent which powers this web-based administration tool. (/var/log/raa/web)
