Branding
From rPath Wiki
rPath has branded products and services to match the scheme outlined here:
rBuilder™ Appliance (rBA) is a licensed product from rPath that facilitates the creation of software appliances (including virtual appliances) using Conary® and either rPath® Linux or the rPath Appliance Platform Linux Service.
rPath Appliance Platform™ consists of products and services designed to support an appliance through its lifecycle. The rPath Appliance Platform agent is the web application with a plugin architecture at the heart of the Appliance Agent. This agent was formerly known as rPath Appliance Agent, and some Appliance Platform agent components still bear the original rAA branding.
The rPath Appliance Platform services are:
- rPath Appliance Platform Agent, providing customizable and extensible interfaces for appliance administation
- Update Service (rUS) consisting of the system update plugins, Update Service Appliance (formerly rPath Mirror), and inbound and outbound mirroring operations in appliances such as the rBuilder Appliance
- Entitlement Service (rES) consisting of the Entitlements plugin and entitlement files on an appliance, and (optionally) the Entitlement Service Appliance (formerly known as rPath Entitlement Appliance)
- Linux Service (rLS) consisting of rPath Linux components available to customers through the rPath products repository, plus the means of mirroring those components for access by the rBuilder Appliance
