Conary:Development Tools

Conary --> Packaging --> Build Environment --> Development Tools

The development tools for Conary provide the cvc commands used during packaging activities. These are currently available for installation from rPath Linux and from Foresight Linux. Use conary update with root user privileges to install the package group-devel from either of these projects (available on the default install label path for these distributions). The following labels for version one of each product are provided for reference: 

group-devel=foresight.rpath.org@fl:1
group-devel=conary.rpath.com@rpl:1


From here you may wish to:
  • Continue setting up a build environment for Conary packaging by:
    • Ensuring you have repository access needed to commit software to one or more Conary repositories
    • Creating project directories to contain the Conary contexts where packaging occurs
    • Setting up the contexts, both in Conary configuration and in the directory structure, to associate local package building with upstream repositories
  • After setting up a build environment, review the Conary packaging process and start writing recipes.
