Conary --> Packaging
  WHERE DO I GET STARTED?
Prior to packaging for Conary, each audience should review instructional or reference pages appropriate for its level of experience:
  • Experienced Linux packagers and Linux hobbyists who are new to Conary may wish to read the Conary Concepts and Conary Version String pages to understand Conary concepts and terminology, then proceed to the reference pages indexed here.
  • Software developers with little or no Linux experience may wish to use the Appliance Development pages and Tutorials which provide step-by-step instructional approach and examples designed to guide users through packaging and appliance group development.
  • Software developers with Linux experience can select either the instructional approach (Appliance Development pages and Tutorials) or the reference approach through the Conary pages indexed here.

All audiences should take advantage of the rPath Community for help and support for Conary packaging.

Software and appliance developers or Linux hobbyists can package software for Conary package management. They can also pull packages into one or more Conary groups to be managed together, especially when creating appliances or custom Conary-based distributions.
