| Question: How can I fix a "conflicting paths" error? | ||
Answer: Conflicting paths can occur when cooking groups when two or more packages bring in conflicting components. To resolve conflicting paths, modify one or more of the packages as needed to replace or remove the files that Conary messages indicate are in conflict. Choose what updates to make based on the needs of each package and the needs of the group.
When packages come from different labels, rPath recommends using a derived package to make minimal modifications to a package. When more extensive modifications are needed, consider shadowing the package from its original location and make modifications on a new label. Modify the group recipe as needed to point to the derived or shadowed package.
