FAQ:Update the Kernel with Conary

| Question: How can I keep my kernel updated on a Conary-based system? | ||
Answer: Kernel updating has always required a slightly different approach than for updating other software. Basically, a new kernel is installed "next to" a currently running kernel, making it possible to boot from either the known good (older) kernel if there is an issue with the new kernel.
Conary's pinning feature is designed to simplify kernel updates, and it can be optionally used with other updates. After a kernel update, you can also erase older kernel troves to keep the system streamlined.
