Talk:Setting Time Zone?
From rPath Wiki
Hello,
I'm just wondering how I go about setting the time zone on my rPath LAMP appliance? It's CLI only and the standard linking of the appropriate time zone file to /etc/timezone isn't working. I'm stuck at UTC.
Is there some magic to rPath that I'm not getting?
Thanks!

The file you want is /etc/localtime, not /etc/timezone -- other than the precise filename, you had it right. (This isn't specific to rPath.)
In the more general case, appliances which include rAA have this issue resolved through the rAA plugin for setting the timezone for the appliance, so that the appliance doesn't require a shell login to resolve this issue.
