rPath provides tutorials for those getting started with Conary, rBuilder, and other rPath technologies. Current tutorials are listed below:

Application to Appliance: A Hands-on Guide

Download this PDF to use as an introduction to building appliances with rBuilder and rMake. By stepping through the guide, you will launch a pre-configured build environment as a VMware image, you will build a complete appliance based on the rPath Appliance Platform, and you will generate and update VMware instances of the new appliance.

Conary Contexts

Use this tutorial for configuring and setting up contexts which provide the location for packaging and appliance development using Conary and rMake.

Conary New Package Tutorial

Use this tutorial if you are new to packaging for Conary package management. The tutorial uses an rBuilder Online repository as a Conary repository for building the package.

Shadowing and Cloning Tutorial

Use this tutorial to step through creating a small sample package, shadowing the package, modifying the shadow, merging updates from a parent to a shadow, cloning the package, and modifying the clone. The tutorial assumes using an rBuilder Online repository, such as the one used for the New Package Tutorial.
