rBuilder:Handle Member Requests

From rPath Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Project owners each receive an email when an rBuilder user submits a request to join a project. The email includes the username of the user and any comments the user sent in the initial request. If the user modifies these comments before the request is handled, project owners see the modified comments on the project's Members page.

When project owners log in, a red Requests Pending link is displayed next to the project name in the project panel. This link leads directly to the project's Members page where the request can be handled.

From the project's Members page, handle the request using these steps.

  1. Click VIEW REQUEST next to the name of the requestor in the Requestors section of the page.
  2. Review the comments included in the request to help in determining how to handle the request.
  3. Click one of three options to handle the request: Make Owner, Make Developer, or Reject Request.
  4. If you click Reject Request, type any additional comments you wish to make regarding the rejection and click Submit.
  5. Verify a message is displayed on the Members page confirming how you have handled the request.
  6. If you have made the user a member, verify the member is listed as an owner or developer as you selected.

Email is sent to the project owners and to the requestor to confirm how the request was handled. In the email, the requestor will not see which project owner handled the request. The requestor does receive the handler's comments if the request was rejected.
