As a registered user in rBuilder, you can join a project as a developer or project owner to actively participate in project development and management.
Use the following steps to join an rBuilder project:
- Use the Search or Browse project links provided in the rBuilder page header to find a project you wish to join.
- Click the linked project name in the search or browse results to open the Project Home page for that project. Read the description provided for the project to verify that this is the project you wish to join.
- Click View Project Membership from the Project Resources panel. The project's Members page lists all current project owners and developers, and it shows the number of users watching the project. (rBuilder User Roles)
- Click Request to join this project on the project's Members page.
- Type any comments you wish to make regarding your request in the text box provided. A Retract Request button is provided if you wish to reverse this decision, though navigating away from the request page will also cancel your request.
- Click Submit.
- Verify a message appears above the content of the page to confirm you have joined the project.
Until your request is addressed, the join request link is replaced by a link to Modify your comments to a pending join request.
After your request is accepted, you will receive an email from rBuilder confirming your addition to the project and stating whether you have been made a project owner or a developer.
If your request is rejected, you will receive an email from rBuilder including any comments from the project owner who handled the request.
