rBuilder Online --> Groups --> Group Builder --> Create a Group

rBuilder groups can be created and edited by product owners and developers.

Use these steps to create a group in an rBuilder product using Group Builder:

  1. Navigate to the rBuilder product.
  2. Click Group Builder from the Product Resources panel.
  3. Click Create a new group below the other group information on the page.
  4. Type a group name in the Group Name text box. Note that the name cannot have spaces and will automatically carry the group- prefix.
  5. Type a version number of your choosing in the Group Version text box. Use a consistent numbering convention for your product that will help others when returning to your group to download new releases.
  6. Type a description for your group if desired.
  7. Check the appropriate boxes for any of the standard rPath Linux group troves you choose to include in your group. Note that the group-core trove gives you a basic Conary-based Linux distribution, and each group you select in addition to that should be chosen based on what you wish to do with your appliance. You can continue to add and remove packages from the group after the group is created.
  8. Click Create.
  9. Verify the Edit Group page is displayed. Navigate throughout rBuilder to select packages to add to this group, and return to this Edit Group to edit this group in other ways.
