rBuilder Online:Promote and Demote Members

As an rBuilder product owner, you can promote and demote product members. Members can be either product owners or developers.

The Members page lists members with membership management links beside each. Beside each developer is a link to PROMOTE TO OWNER. Beside each product owner is a link to DEMOTE TO DEVELOPER. Those that have the product bookmarked are not listed. Any product owner of a product can see and use these links.

Promote a Member

Use the following steps to promote members of an rBuilder product.

1. Navigate to the product in rBuilder.
2. Click Manage product Membership from the product Resources panel.
3. To promote one or more developers to product owner status, click PROMOTE TO OWNER beside each user's username.
4. To promote one or more watchers to developer status, click PROMOTE TO DEVELOPER beside each user's username.

If you wish to promote an rBuilder user who is not yet a member of the product, add the user as a member and choose the membership status desired.

Demote a Member

Use the following steps to demote members of an rBuilder product (without removing them).

1. Navigate to the product in rBuilder.
2. Click Manage product Membership from the product Resources panel.
3. To demote one or more product owners to developer status, click DEMOTE TO DEVELOPER beside each user's username.

The only other option for demotion is to remove a member from a product.

If you demote yourself from product owner to developer, you cannot reverse this action. You must have another product owner promote you to the product owner role again.

If there are no other product owners, you will be unable to demote yourself. You must promote at least one another member to product owner before you can demote yourself to developer.
