The rPath Appliance Platform Update Service is driven by the Update Service appliance. The Update Service appliance is a server dedicated to managing software repositories that provide updates to deployed appliances.
The Update Service appliance is based on the rPath Appliance Platform and provides administration through the rPath Appliance Platform Agent web interface. Much of the installation and maintenance of an Update Service appliance is similar to that of rBuilder Appliance and incorporates typical appliance administration tasks powered by the rPath Appliance Platform.
