rPathLinux Talk:What are the default packages shipped with rPath Linux 1.0.5?

From rPath Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

I have been looking around the sites and I cant seem to find a list of default applications. Im looking for this because im somewhat new to Linux and am trying to make a list of the apps and their functions. This way I can see what programs I have and what they do, so if I need an app to do something (such as movie editing or perhaps system management) I can see if I need to load one or if there is already one installed that will do what I need. Does anyone know if this information has been posted somewhere already?

1 quick edit...while on this topic, does Conary have a graphical frontend in KDE?

Well, I would like to have that list, but if there is a command I could use to make it then I would be happy to do the work myself.....Keep in mind please that im talking about applications only, not librarys and such. Mostly just the executables that the end user would be running in the GUI for the day-to-day work and play and system tweaks. In example: If I decided I wanted to rip a cd, I just need something I could referance to see what my options are or if I need to download a package for it......Thx for the quick response also. ::)

There is no graphical frontend for conary except for raa - which at present only does updates. As for what's available "by default", that list is rather large - over 800 things. I can generate it if you really want it.

Who is "I" ?? I'm curious about the level of activity in this group. My use for rPath is to help popularize linux for people on the win32, and it seems that rPath is the best choice for vmware vmplayer, and probably the rest of the virtual bunch.
