Question

Hi,

I have been using OpenFiler which is now a rPath based.

I have a Promise SX8300 Hardware Raid card {8 port SATA II}. The driver is for Red Hat and worked perfectly with Centos {the old distro for OpenFiler}

Any Ideas?

Answer

rPath Linux is independently maintained and supported. Its conventions (user-private groups, init scripts, and so forth) are most closely related to Red Hat's various Linux technologies and their derivatives such as CentOS. rPath Linux provides an essentially unpatched upstream Linux kernel. The sx8 driver is enabled in the rPath Linux kernel.
