The rPath Appliance Platform Agent (rAPA) default update mechanism can be overridden by the Flip-flop Update and Factory Reset plugins. This change is at the discretion of the appliance developers. The Factory Reset plugin allows a rAPA user to return an appliance to its state when it was originally deployed from the vendor.

Appliance Developer Notes

Appliance developers must include the Flip-flop Update plugin to provide the foundation for the Factory Reset Plugin. See the Flip-flop Update Plugin page for developer notes.
